The directory
About Hot Pools Atlas
Hot Pools Atlas is an independent directory of natural hot springs, hot-spring resorts, and day-use soak spots across the United States — wild and developed, mapped in one place.
America's hot water is scattered and badly documented. The grand resorts have their own marketing; the wild springs live in forum threads, dog-eared guidebooks, and word of mouth. Nobody puts them side by side. We do: 60 researched springs across Colorado, California, and Oregon, each verified against its real official site, each tagged honestly by the kind of spring it is.
How we research
Every listing is researched by a human. We confirm the spring exists and is currently operating, note the spring type it genuinely is, and record admission prices only where we could verify them — where we couldn't, we say “Check current rates” instead of guessing. Descriptions are written in our own words; we never copy text from source sites.
How we stay independent
Listings are included on editorial merit: real spring, real access, genuinely useful to soakers. Spring owners can suggest a listing for a free basic entry, and featured placements are available — but paid placement never affects whether a spring is listed or how we describe it, and featured listings are always labeled. Read our full editorial policy.
How we make money
Hot Pools Atlas is supported by advertising and by booking links: when you click through to nearby lodging and book, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. That revenue pays for the research. It does not buy rankings or descriptions.
What's next
We launched with 60 springs across three states — and we're adding states every month. If you know a great hot spring we're missing, tell us.
